At the heart of Noughty’s Pea Complex is an extract of the humble garden pea, AnaGain™. Research undertaken by our supplier has shown this extract can help to stimulate hair growth, restore vitality and prolong the life cycle of hair.

The extract does this by stimulating signalling molecules that regulate dermal papilla (DP). The DP play a significant role in hair follicle development and growth because they initiate the growth of new hair. They do this by controlling the follicle’s change from degeneration (telogen) to growth (anagen) phases of the hair life cycle. They also tell the cells of the hair matrix to multiply, move upward and differentiate into all the different types of cells that will make up the outgrowing hair and its root.

Our extract effectively flips the grow switch on by stimulate the chemistry that tells the DP to initiate the growth of new hair. Research by the supplier showed that over a three month period the density of hair in the anagen phase was increased, and the density of hair in the telogen phase was decreased. So a higher proportion of hair was in the growth phase as compared to the degradation phase. So an extract of the garden pea (well, its shoots) can help to stimulate the dermal papilla to induce the growth of new hair.
